Am I eligible for the rebate if I use a bore (private groundwater) for my irrigation?

No. All Water Corporation and Busselton Water irrigation rebates are specifically designed to reduce consumption of scheme water (mains water). Properties that use a private bore, rainwater, or another alternative source for irrigation are not eligible.

What work is covered by the Water Corporation and Busselton Water Irrigation Rebates?

The rebates are focused on fixing high water-waste issues, which include: • Identifying and repairing underground pipe leaks. • Replacing or repairing faulty irrigation solenoid valves (which can leak 24/7). • Installation of a master solenoid valve (Water Corp only). • All services must include a check and adjustment of your automatic controller.

What services are specifically excluded from the rebates?

The rebates do not cover: • General maintenance or routine system checks (without an identified fault/leak). • Upgrading or replacing sprinkler heads or nozzles. • Services related to the supply, installation, maintenance, or repair of a bore.

Why do I need to be present during the service?

Customer attendance is a mandatory requirement of the Water Corporation and Busselton Water rebate programs. This is to ensure you receive essential Waterwise education on the works completed and are taught how to correctly program your automatic controller to maintain long-term water savings.

How will I receive the rebate money?

The approved rebate amount (up to the stated maximum) will be applied as a credit directly to your relevant utility provider account (Water Corporation, Busselton Water, or Aqwest).

What is the deadline for claiming the rebate?

For the Water Corporation and Busselton Water rebates, the service must be completed between 1 September 2025 and 31 May 2026 (or until funds are exhausted). You must then submit your claim with the signed checklist and paid invoice within 30 days of the service date.

This rebate helps Perth and Peel residential customers fix significant water wastage issues in their irrigation systems. The rebate offers up to $200.

Eligible Services: It must involve identifying and repairing pipe leak(s) in the irrigation system, and/or replacing or repairing faulty irrigation solenoid valves, which includes master solenoids. The installation of a master solenoid valve into an existing system is also eligible as a preventative water-saving measure. It is mandatory to include a check of the automatic controller and an adjustment, if it's required.
Excluded Services: The rebate specifically excludes services such as general maintenance, routine checks (without an identified leak/fault), or the upgrade or replacement of sprinkler heads.
Key Requirement: The service must be completed by a participating Waterwise Garden Irrigator (Retic Smart), and the customer must be present during the work.
Period: Applications are open from 1 September 2025 to 31 May 2026 (or until exhausted - 1,500 rebates are available).

How to Claim: You must inform a Waterwise Garden Irrigator when booking and submit the online application with the signed checklist and paid invoice to the Water Corporation within 30 days of service.

Busselton Water Rebates (Busselton)

Busselton Water is offering two separate rebate programs for residential customers in the 2025–26 period. You may be eligible to claim one rebate from each program.

A. Weather-based Irrigation Controller Rebate (Up to $300)

This rebate covers up to $300 toward the cost of purchasing and setting up an eligible weather-based smart controller or module.

Eligible Work: Purchase and professional set-up of an eligible smart controller or module.

Aqwest Waterwise Irrigation Rebate (Bunbury)

Aqwest is offering a rebate of up to $200 to help residential customers in the Bunbury area improve the water efficiency of their irrigation systems. This program encourages property owners to engage a waterwise garden irrigator to fix leaks and optimize system settings.

Eligible Services: To claim the rebate, the service must include one or more of the following:

Identifying and repairing pipe leaks within the irrigation system.
Improving an existing system for increased efficiency, such as replacing or repairing faulty valves or solenoids.
Mandatory Requirement: All services must include an explanation of the irrigation controller operation, a check of watering settings, and adjustments to ensure adherence to the watering roster and optimal performance.

Excluded Services: The rebate does not cover:

Purchase of new irrigation controllers.
Purchase of new or replacement sprinkler heads.
General landscaping or garden equipment (mulch, plants, artificial turf, etc.).
Bore-related repairs or maintenance.

Key Requirements:

Property Type: You must be an Aqwest property owner with an existing operational irrigation system connected to Aqwest scheme water. Gardens irrigated by bores or rainwater are not eligible.
Professional Service: You must use a participating garden irrigator listed on the Aqwest website (like Retic Smart).
Customer Attendance: You must be present during the service to receive water efficiency information and to sign the mandatory service checklist. Retrospective checklists cannot be provided.

Period: Applications are open from 1 December 2025 to 31 May 2026, or until the rebate limit is reached.

How to Claim:

Inform Us: Notify Retic Smart that you intend to claim the rebate when booking your service.
Complete the Service: Ensure the work is purchased during the rebate period.
Documentation: On the day of service, we will complete the required service checklist with you.
Submit Online: Apply via the Aqwest website within 30 days of the service. You will need to upload your paid tax invoice, the signed service checklist, and a copy of an Aqwest bill.
Payment: Approved rebates are paid as a credit to your Aqwest account.

The rebate eligibility is determined by the utility company that supplies your scheme water. Check your water usage bill: • If your bill is from Water Corporation, you are eligible for the Waterwise Irrigation Rebate (Perth/Peel or Regional). • If your bill is from Busselton Water, you are eligible for the Busselton Water Rebates. • If your bill is from Aqwest, you are eligible for the Aqwest Leak Allowance. (Note: Customers in Busselton receive a separate bill from the Water Corporation for sewerage, but Busselton Water provides the scheme water supply.)

While Retic Smart is an Approved Waterwise Garden Irrigator and guarantees the quality and eligibility of the work performed, we cannot guarantee the final approval or payment of any rebate claim.

Our Responsibility: Our commitment to you is to ensure that the services performed (leak repair, valve replacement, controller adjustment) are eligible services under the current terms of the specific water provider's scheme. We will provide you with the correctly completed and signed Rebate Checklist and a detailed, paid tax invoice required for your submission.

The Water Provider’s Responsibility: Final approval and payment of the rebate is made solely by the relevant water utility (Water Corporation, Busselton Water, or Aqwest). They retain the right to approve, adjust, or deny any claim based on their final review of eligibility, available funding, and compliance with their full terms and conditions.

Rebate Claims May Be Rejected By the Water Provider If:

The customer does not submit the claim within the required time frame.
The customer has previously claimed a rebate.
The garden is primarily irrigated by a private bore or alternative water source (not scheme water).
The property type or account status does not meet the provider’s specific terms.

By proceeding with the service, you acknowledge that the final eligibility and approval of the rebate is managed by your water provider.
