Waterwise Irrigation Rebates 2025-26

As accredited Waterwise Garden Irrigators, Retic Smart is proud to participate in key water efficiency programs across the region. We provide the services and documentation to help customers of the Water Corporation (covering both Metro and Regional schemes), Busselton Water, and Aqwest to access valuable rebates and allowances.

Water Corporation Waterwise Irrigation Rebate (Perth & Peel)
This rebate helps Perth and Peel residential customers fix significant water wastage issues in their irrigation systems. The rebate offers up to $200.

Eligible Services: It must involve identifying and repairing pipe leak(s) in the irrigation system, and/or replacing or repairing faulty irrigation solenoid valves, which includes master solenoids. The installation of a master solenoid valve into an existing system is also eligible as a preventative water-saving measure. It is mandatory to include a check of the automatic controller and an adjustment, if it's required.

Excluded Services: The rebate specifically excludes services such as general maintenance, routine checks (without an identified leak/fault), or the upgrade or replacement of sprinkler heads.

Key Requirement: The service must be completed by a participating Waterwise Garden Irrigator (Retic Smart), and the customer must be present during the work.

Period: Applications are open from 1 September 2025 to 31 May 2026 (or until exhausted - 1,500 rebates are available).
How to Claim: You must inform a Waterwise Garden Irrigator when booking and submit the online application with the signed checklist and paid invoice to the Water Corporation within 30 days of service.

Water Corporation Regional Irrigation Rebate (Selected Regional Towns)
This rebate assists residential customers in eligible regional towns of Western Australia to fix significant water wastage issues in their irrigation systems. The rebate offers up to $200.

Eligible Services: It must involve identifying and repairing pipe leak(s) in the irrigation system, and/or replacing or repairing faulty irrigation solenoid valves, which includes master solenoids. It is mandatory to include a check of the automatic controller and an adjustment, if required.

Excluded Services: The rebate specifically excludes services such as general maintenance, routine checks (without an identified leak/fault), or the upgrade or replacement of sprinkler heads.

Key Requirement: The service must be completed by an Approved Garden Irrigator (Retic Smart), and the customer must be present during the work. You must also have an existing irrigation system connected to Water Corporation scheme water.

Period: Applications are open from 1 September 2025 to 31 May 2026 (or until exhausted).

Busselton Water Rebates (Busselton)
Busselton Water is offering two separate rebate programs for residential customers in the 2025–26 period. You may be eligible to claim one rebate from each program.
A. Weather-based Irrigation Controller Rebate (Up to $300)
This rebate covers up to $300 toward the cost of purchasing and setting up an eligible weather-based smart controller or module.

Eligible Work: Purchase and professional set-up of an eligible smart controller or module.

Key Requirement: The service must be completed by a Waterwise Garden Irrigator (Retic Smart).

Period: Applications are open from 1 October 2025 to 31 May 2026 (or until exhausted).

B. Waterwise Irrigation Rebate (Up to $200)
This rebate covers up to $200 to help improve irrigation efficiency by addressing high water-waste issues.

Eligible Work: Repairing pipe leaks and/or replacing faulty solenoid valves.

Key Requirement: Gardens irrigated by alternative sources (e.g., bore water) are not eligible. You must apply within 30 days of receiving the service.

Aqwest Leak Allowance (Bunbury)
If you are an Aqwest customer in the Bunbury area, you may be eligible for an allowance to offset a portion of high water consumption caused by a hidden leak.

Allowance Value: The allowance, if granted, is a credit to the customer's account. The application will only be assessed if the water lost due to the leak is more than $250.00. Customers may be eligible to receive an allowance of up to 50% of the estimated water lost. If a claim is denied because the value is under $250.00, the customer may be eligible for the Leak Assist of up to 50kL.

Eligible Work: The allowance applies to the repair of a genuine hidden leak. A hidden leak is one that is not visible, such as a broken underground pipe, a leak inside walls, or underneath paving. The repair must be completed by a licensed plumber or a Waterwise Garden Irrigator (WGI) like Retic Smart.

System Requirements: For garden reticulation leaks, the irrigation system must, at a minimum, have a manual isolation valve and master solenoid installed.

Repair Timeline: The leak must be repaired as soon as possible from the identification of the leak.

Application Deadline: The application must be submitted to Aqwest within three (3) months of identification of the leak or notification of high consumption from Aqwest. The property owner is responsible for submitting the application and required repair invoice.

FAQs
While Retic Smart is an Approved Waterwise Garden Irrigator and guarantees the quality and eligibility of the work performed, we cannot guarantee the final approval or payment of any rebate claim.
Our Responsibility: Our commitment to you is to ensure that the services performed (leak repair, valve replacement, controller adjustment) are eligible services under the current terms of the specific water provider's scheme. We will provide you with the correctly completed and signed Rebate Checklist and a detailed, paid tax invoice required for your submission.
The Water Provider’s Responsibility: Final approval and payment of the rebate is made solely by the relevant water utility (Water Corporation, Busselton Water, or Aqwest). They retain the right to approve, adjust, or deny any claim based on their final review of eligibility, available funding, and compliance with their full terms and conditions.
Rebate Claims May Be Rejected By the Water Provider If:

The customer does not submit the claim within the required time frame.

The customer has previously claimed a rebate.

The garden is primarily irrigated by a private bore or alternative water source (not scheme water).

The property type or account status does not meet the provider’s specific terms.
By proceeding with the service, you acknowledge that the final eligibility and approval of the rebate is managed by your water provider.
