Homeowners in Busselton now have an exciting opportunity to make their gardens more efficient while saving on water bills — thanks to Busselton Water’s $200 Irrigation Rebate. This local initiative rewards customers who take steps to improve the performance and efficiency of their irrigation systems, helping to create more sustainable gardens across the community.

What Is Busselton Water’s $200 Irrigation Rebate?

Busselton Water’s $200 Irrigation Rebate is part of the utility’s 2025–26 Waterwise Irrigation Rebate Program. The rebate offers up to $200 for eligible residential customers who engage a qualified Waterwise Garden Irrigator to repair leaks or faulty irrigation valves in systems connected to Busselton Water’s scheme supply.

The program’s goal is simple — to reduce outdoor water use by improving irrigation efficiency and educating property owners about waterwise practices. With only 20 rebates available, applications will be accepted from 1 October 2025 to 31 May 2026, or until the funding limit is reached.

Who Can Apply for the Rebate

To qualify, your property must:

  • Be a residential home connected to Busselton Water’s scheme water network.

  • Have irrigation that is not supplied by a bore or rainwater tank.

  • Use a Waterwise Garden Irrigator endorsed by Irrigation Australia to complete the eligible service, like Retic Smart.

The applicant must be the property owner or property manager, and the service must be completed and claimed within 30 days.

What Services Are Eligible

Under Busselton Water’s 2025–26 rebate program, only specific irrigation repair services qualify. These include:

  • Identifying and repairing leaks in irrigation pipes.

  • Replacing or repairing faulty irrigation solenoid valves.

Each eligible service must also include a check and adjustment of the automatic irrigation controller to ensure efficient run times and correct watering days.

Purchasing new irrigation products, plants, or landscaping materials does not qualify. The rebate applies strictly to approved repair services that improve system efficiency and reduce water waste.

How to Claim Busselton Water’s $200 Irrigation Rebate

Claiming your rebate is straightforward:

  1. Book a Waterwise Garden Irrigator and let them know you intend to claim the rebate when you schedule the job.

  2. Be present during the service so you can learn about your irrigation settings and sign the service checklist.

  3. Ensure the irrigator completes and signs the Waterwise Irrigation Rebate Checklist confirming the eligible work.

  4. Submit your application — including your paid tax invoice and signed checklist — via email to admin@busseltonwater.wa.gov.au within 30 days of service.

Once approved, the rebate will be credited directly to your Busselton Water account, typically within one billing cycle.

Why It’s Worth Acting Quickly

With only 20 rebates available, the program operates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Once all rebates have been allocated, no further claims can be processed — even if within the application period.

Beyond the financial incentive, this initiative helps homeowners take proactive steps to conserve water, extend the lifespan of their irrigation systems, and maintain healthier gardens throughout Busselton’s dry months.
